The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Northeastern Jackson County in southeastern Ohio...
Northwestern Vinton County in southeastern Ohio...
* Until 330 AM EDT.
* At 1229 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain
have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.5 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Wellston, Mcarthur, Hamden, Allensville, Creola and Eagle Mills.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll free,
800 401 9535, when you can do so safely.

FOR NORTHEASTERN JACKSON AND NORTHWESTERN VINTON COUNTIES...
Flood waters are receding, so the Flash Flood Warning is being
allowed to expire. However, motorists should continue to exercise
extreme caution and be prepared for water or debris remaining on
roadways. Please continue to heed remaining road closures.
A Flood Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT Friday for portions
of northeast Kentucky, southeast Ohio, southwest Virginia, and West
Virginia.
