* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Eastern Athens County in southeastern Ohio...
  Southwestern Washington County in southeastern Ohio...
  Southwestern Pleasants County in northwestern West Virginia...
  Northwestern Ritchie County in northwestern West Virginia...
  North Central Wirt County in northwestern West Virginia...
  Wood County in northwestern West Virginia...

* Until 1130 AM EDT.

* At 833 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen.
  Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned
  area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
           drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Parkersburg, Belpre, Vienna, Williamstown, Boaz, Mineralwells,
  Lubeck, Washington, North Hills, Cairo, Waverly, Davisville,
  Walker, Willow Island, Freeport, Blennerhassett, Petroleum, Schultz
  and Fleming.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 77 in West Virginia between mile markers 170 and 186.
Route 50 in West Virginia between mile markers 1 and 32.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll free,
800 401 9535, when you can do so safely.

EASTERN ATHENS, SOUTHWESTERN WASHINGTON, SOUTHWESTERN PLEASANTS,
NORTHWESTERN RITCHIE, NORTH CENTRAL WIRT AND WOOD COUNTIES...

The threat for flash flooding has ended. However, areas of high water
may linger into early afternoon, especially in low-lying locations.
Please continue to heed any remaining road closures.

A Flood Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT Friday for portions
of northeast Kentucky, southeast Ohio, southwest Virginia, and West
Virginia.
