The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  East Central Boone County in central West Virginia...
  Southwestern Fayette County in southeastern West Virginia...
  Northwestern Raleigh County in southeastern West Virginia...

* Until 645 PM EDT.

* At 342 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
  have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.50 inches are
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
  to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
           drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Mount Hope, Bradley, Piney View, Whitesville, Pax, Sylvester, Artie
  and Dorothy.

This includes the following highways...
Route 19 between mile markers 3 and 6. West Virginia Turnpike between
mile markers 50 and 55.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll free,
800 401 9535, when you can do so safely.

SOUTHWESTERN FAYETTE AND NORTHWESTERN RALEIGH COUNTIES...

The heavy rain has ended and flood waters have receded. Flooding is
no longer expected to pose a threat. Please continue to heed any
remaining road closures.

A Flood Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for portions of
northeast Kentucky, southeast Ohio, southwest Virginia, and West
Virginia.
