The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Northwestern Morgan County in southeastern Ohio...
Central Perry County in southeastern Ohio...
* Until 545 AM EDT.
* At 149 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between
2.5 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts
of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is
already occurring, including road closures and water rescues,
including in New Lexington, Crooksville and Roseville.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.
SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
New Lexington, Somerset, Perry State Forest, Crooksville, Junction
City and Eagleport.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll free,

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 545 AM EDT EARLY THIS
MORNING FOR NORTHWESTERN MORGAN AND CENTRAL PERRY COUNTIES...
At 308 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms produced heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3
and 4 inches of rain have fallen. While the heaviest of the rain was
over in the warned area for now, additional showers and thunderstorms
forming in western Ohio could arrive by daybreak this morning. Flash
flooding is occurring with road closures in New Lexington,
Crooksville and Roseville. There were water rescues in New Lexington
and water rescues and evacuations in Crooksville.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.
