The National Weather Service in Pocatello has issued a Red Flag Warning for gusty winds and low relative humidity, which is in effect from noon to 9 PM MDT Sunday. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 475 East Salmon River Mountains/Salmon NF and Fire Weather Zone 476 Lemhi and Lost River Range/Challis NF. * WINDS...West 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 12 percent. * IMPACTS...Wind reaching these speeds and humidity drier than 15 percent can result in rapid fire spread and extreme wildfire intensity. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Winds have backed off below 25 mph and relative humidity has increased. Thus, will allow the Red Flag warning for today to expire at 9 PM MDT this evening. An approaching trough will move through tomorrow and will bring gusty winds. Relative humidity will be continue to be critical tomorrow before monsoon moisture starts moving into the area Wednesday into the rest of the week. Will reissue a Red Flag warning for fire weather zones 475 and 476 for Monday afternoon into the early evening.
