The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Western San Bernardino County in southern California...

* Until 500 PM PDT.

* At 412 PM PDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Newberry
  Springs, or 13 miles east of Daggett, moving east at 15 mph.

  HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
           tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
           roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include...
  Newberry Springs.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 15 in California between mile markers 88 and 111.
Interstate 40 in California between mile markers 15 and 40.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure
and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing
widespread damaging winds and large hail.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Report severe weather to your nearest law enforcement agency or the
