* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Northeastern Piscataquis County in north central Maine...
  North central Penobscot County in east central Maine...

* Until 330 PM EDT.

* At 248 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles north of
  Telos Lake, or 26 miles north of Ripogenus, moving southeast at 20
  mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vehicles is possible. Expect wind 
           damage to trees and power lines.

* Locations impacted include...
  South Branch Pond, Baxter State Park, Telos Lake, northwestern
  Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument, and Grand Lake
  Matagamon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is
one of natures leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 330 PM EDT
FOR NORTHEASTERN PISCATAQUIS AND NORTH CENTRAL PENOBSCOT COUNTIES...

At 305 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles north of
Telos Lake, or 25 miles north of Ripogenus, moving southeast at 15
mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vehicles is possible. Expect wind 
         damage to trees and power lines.

...THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR NORTHEASTERN PISCATAQUIS AND
NORTH CENTRAL PENOBSCOT COUNTIES WILL EXPIRE AT 330 PM EDT...

The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.
Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire.  However, gusty
winds and heavy rain are still possible with this thunderstorm.
