The National Weather Service in Caribou Maine has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  East central Piscataquis County in north central Maine...

* Until 545 PM EDT.

* At 501 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Telos Lake,
  or 14 miles north of Ripogenus, moving southeast at 20 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vehicles is possible. Expect wind 
           damage to trees and power lines.

* Locations impacted include...
  Mount Katahdin, Baxter State Park, and Telos Lake.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 545 PM EDT
FOR EAST CENTRAL PISCATAQUIS COUNTY...

At 519 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Baxter State
Park, or 9 miles northwest of Mount Katahdin, moving southeast at 20
mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vehicles is possible. Expect wind 
         damage to trees and power lines.

Locations impacted include...
Mount Katahdin and Baxter State Park.

...THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR EAST CENTRAL PISCATAQUIS
COUNTY WILL EXPIRE AT 545 PM EDT...

The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.
Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire.  However, small
hail and gusty winds are still possible with this thunderstorm.
