The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  South central Imperial County in southeastern California...

* Until 430 PM PDT.

* At 347 PM PDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles east of
  Calexico, and is nearly stationary.

  HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to 
           mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include...
  Calexico, Holtville, and Bonds Corner.

This includes the following highways...
CA Interstate 8 between mile markers 45 and 55.
CA Route 111 between mile markers 1 and 4.
CA Route 98 between mile markers 31 and 48.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is
one of natures leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
