The National Weather Service in Phoenix has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Central Imperial County in southeastern California...

* Until 545 PM PDT.

* At 458 PM PDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 23 miles northeast
  of Holtville, or 25 miles east of Brawley, moving northeast at 5
  mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Glamis.

This includes CA Route 78 between mile markers 31 and 56.
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is
one of natures leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 545 PM PDT
FOR NORTH CENTRAL IMPERIAL COUNTY...

At 527 PM PDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 26 miles northeast
of Brawley, moving northeast at 5 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of north
central Imperial County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

...THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR NORTH CENTRAL IMPERIAL COUNTY
WILL EXPIRE AT 545 PM PDT...

The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.
Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire.  However, gusty
winds are still possible with this thunderstorm.
