* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Northeastern Washington County in eastern North Carolina...
  Northern Tyrrell County in eastern North Carolina...

* Until 730 PM EDT.

* At 648 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Woodley, or
  22 miles east of Plymouth, moving east at 25 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage 
           to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Alligator, Columbia, Woodley, Newfoundland, Scuppernong, Frying Pan
  Landing, and Creswell.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Please send your reports of hail and/or wind damage, including trees
or large limbs downed, by calling the National Weather Service office
in Newport at 1-800-889-6889.

Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning
are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is
one of natures leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder,
you are close enough to be struck by lightning.

EXPIRE AT 730 PM EDT...

The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.
Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire.  However, gusty
winds are still possible with this thunderstorm.
