* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
Central Richland County in central South Carolina...
* Until 730 PM EDT.
* At 647 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near SC State Fair
Grounds, or near Forest Acres, moving east at 5 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and powerlines.
* Locations impacted include...
Columbia, Cayce, Forest Acres, McEntire Air Base, Arcadia Lakes, SC
State Fair Grounds, Hopkins, Fort Jackson, Five Points, Horrel
Hill, Woodfield, Olympia, Rosewood, Fort Jackson Wildcat Road,
Cayce Riverwalk, and Fort Jackson Cantonment Area.
This includes Interstate 77 between mile markers 3 and 15.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of natures leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.

EXPIRE AT 730 PM EDT...
The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.
Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However, gusty
winds are still possible with this thunderstorm.
