* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Northwestern Mitchell County in western North Carolina...
  Northern Yancey County in western North Carolina...

* Until 600 PM EDT.

* At 512 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Erwin, or
  near Banner Hill, moving south at 10 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind 
           damage to trees and power lines.

* Locations impacted include...
  Burnsville, Bandana, Ramseytown, Poplar, Green Mountain, Swiss,
  Bakersville, and Micaville.

...THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR NORTHWESTERN MITCHELL AND
NORTHERN YANCEY COUNTIES IS CANCELLED...

The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.
Therefore, the warning has been cancelled.  However, small hail and
gusty winds are still possible with this thunderstorm.
