  South central Lake County in northeastern Illinois...
  Northwestern Cook County in northeastern Illinois...

* Until midnight CDT.

* At 1121 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Inverness,
  or near Barrington, moving east at 15 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage 
           to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Arlington Heights, Schaumburg, Palatine, Des Plaines, Mount
  Prospect, Hoffman Estates, Glenview, Buffalo Grove, Streamwood,
  Wheeling, Park Ridge, Elk Grove Village, Mundelein, Niles, Vernon
  Hills, Lake Zurich, Barrington, Rolling Meadows, Prospect Heights,
  Long Grove, Hawthorn Woods, Inverness, Lincolnshire, Barrington
  Hills, and Kildeer.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

FOR SOUTH CENTRAL LAKE AND NORTH CENTRAL COOK COUNTIES...

At 1136 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Palatine,
moving east at 20 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to 
         roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include...
Arlington Heights, Palatine, Des Plaines, Mount Prospect, Glenview,
Buffalo Grove, Wheeling, Park Ridge, Elk Grove Village, Mundelein,
Niles, Vernon Hills, Lake Zurich, Barrington, Rolling Meadows,
Prospect Heights, Long Grove, Hawthorn Woods, Inverness,
Lincolnshire, Kildeer, Forest Lake, Deer Park, and Indian Creek.

A tornado watch remains in effect for the warned area. Tornadoes can
develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. Although a tornado is not
immediately likely, if one is spotted act quickly and move to a place
of safety inside a sturdy structure, such as a basement or small
interior room.

...THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR SOUTH CENTRAL LAKE AND NORTH
CENTRAL COOK COUNTIES WILL EXPIRE AT MIDNIGHT CDT...

The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.
Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire.  However, small
hail and heavy rain are still possible with this thunderstorm.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 400 AM CDT for
northeastern Illinois.
