The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Whiteside County in northwestern Illinois...
  Southeastern Carroll County in northwestern Illinois...

* Until 945 AM CDT.

* At 832 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
  extending from Mississippi Palisades State Park to Andover to
  Malone, moving east at 45 mph.

  HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated. This line of storms has a history of 
           producing wind damage across portions of eastern Iowa. 

  IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to 
           mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include...
  Sterling, Rock Falls, Morrison, Fulton, Savanna, Prophetstown,
  Erie, Garden Plain, Milledgeville, Fairhaven, Tampico, Lyndon,
  Sabula, Chadwick, Coleta, Deer Grove, East Clinton, Emerson, Argo
  Fay, and Union Grove.

This includes Interstate 88 between mile markers 14 and 44.
 
This also includes Big Bend Fish and Wildlife Area, Morrison-Rockwood
State Park, and Prophetstown State Park.
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
sturdy building.

FOR WHITESIDE AND SOUTHEASTERN CARROLL COUNTIES...

At 901 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Chadwick to White Pigeon to Spring Hill, moving
east at 45 mph.

HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile 
         homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

Locations impacted include...
Sterling, Rock Falls, Morrison, Fulton, Prophetstown, Erie, Garden
