* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Starke County in northwestern Indiana...

* Until 1045 AM CDT.

* At 958 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over North Judson,
  or 7 miles southwest of Knox, moving east at 25 mph.

  HAZARD...Golf ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail 
           damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect 
           wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Knox, North Judson, Hamlet, Oak Grove, Toto, Ober, Winona, English
  Lake, Bass Lake, Brems, and Grovertown.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside
should move immediately to shelter inside a strong building. Stay
away from windows.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

FOR STARKE COUNTY...

At 1009 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Knox, moving
east at 20 mph.

THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR PORTIONS OF STARKE COUNTY!

HAZARD...Baseball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Trained weather spotters. Baseball sized hail has been 
         confirmed with this storm. 

IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be severely injured. 
         Expect shattered windows, extensive damage to roofs, 
         siding, and vehicles.

Locations impacted include...
Knox, North Judson, Hamlet, Oak Grove, Toto, Ober, Winona, English
Lake, Bass Lake, Brems, and Grovertown.

...THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR STARKE COUNTY WILL EXPIRE AT
1045 AM CDT...

The storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.
Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire.  However, small
hail and gusty winds are still possible with this thunderstorm.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 400 PM CDT for
northwestern Indiana.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
Northern Indiana.
