The National Weather Service in Rapid City has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
Central Fall River County in southwestern South Dakota...
* Until 445 PM MDT.
* At 405 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 6 miles southeast
of Edgemont, moving east at 40 mph.
THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR EDGEMONT, ANGOSTURA RESORVOIR,
OELRICHS.
HAZARD...90 mph wind gusts and tennis ball size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...You are in a life-threatening situation. Flying debris may
be deadly to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes
will be heavily damaged or destroyed. Homes and businesses
will have substantial roof and window damage. Expect
extensive tree damage and power outages.
* Locations impacted include...
Edgemont, Oral, Oelrichs, Smithwick, Provo, Rumford, Cascade Falls,
Angostura Reservoir, Maverick Junction and Hay Canyon Butte.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Seek shelter now inside an interior room on the lowest floor of a
well-built structure. This storm is capable of producing widespread
destructive winds and dangerous hail.
Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. Seek shelter
immediately in an interior room on the lowest floor of a well-built
structure.
If on or near Angostura Reservoir, get away from the water and move
indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 15
miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are
close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do
not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.

At 418 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 5 miles south of
Cascade Falls, or 14 miles south of Hot Springs, moving east at 40
mph.
THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM FOR EDGEMONT, ANGOSTURA RESORVOIR,

Reservoir, or 14 miles south of Hot Springs, moving east at 40 mph.
HAZARD...Tennis ball size hail and 70 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect
considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to
mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

Oelrichs, Rumford and Hay Canyon Butte.
