The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  The southeastern District of Columbia...
  West central Prince Georges County in central Maryland...
  Southeastern Arlington County in northern Virginia...
  East central Fairfax County in northern Virginia...
  The City of Alexandria in northern Virginia...

* Until 530 PM EDT.

* At 505 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Alexandria,
  moving east at 25 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches 
           to fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as 
           damage homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by 
           downed trees. Localized power outages are possible. 
           Unsecured light objects may become projectiles.

* Locations impacted include...
  Arlington, Alexandria, Clinton, Springfield, Fort Washington, Fort
  Hunt, Groveton, Forestville, Huntington, Largo, Coral Hills, Fort
  Belvoir, National Harbor, Reagan National Airport, Crystal City,
  Nationals Park, Andrews Air Force Base, Lincolnia, Camp Springs,
  and Franconia.

...THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR THE SOUTHEASTERN DISTRICT OF
COLUMBIA...WEST CENTRAL PRINCE GEORGES...SOUTHEASTERN ARLINGTON...AND
EAST CENTRAL FAIRFAX COUNTIES AND THE CITY OF ALEXANDRIA WILL EXPIRE
AT 530 PM EDT...

The storm which prompted the warning has moved out of the area on 
the Virginia side of the river.
Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire.  However, gusty
winds are still possible with this thunderstorm east of the river.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for
District of Columbia...central Maryland...and northern Virginia.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
Sterling Virginia.

Remember, a Severe Thunderstorm Warning still remains in effect for
portions of Prince Georges County.
