The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  North central Albemarle County in central Virginia...
  Southern Greene County in central Virginia...

* Until 615 PM EDT.

* At 545 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near
  Stanardsville, or 16 miles southwest of Madison, moving southeast
  at 35 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches 
           to fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as 
           damage homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by 
           downed trees. Localized power outages are possible. 
           Unsecured light objects may become projectiles.

* Locations impacted include...
  Stanardsville, Hollymead, Ruckersville, Newtown, Quinque, Amicus,
  Advance Mills, Haneytown, and Saint George.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Intense thunderstorm lines can produce brief tornadoes and widespread
significant wind damage. Although a tornado is not immediately
likely, it is best to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of
a building. This storm may cause serious injury and significant
property damage.

...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 615 PM EDT
FOR NORTH CENTRAL ALBEMARLE AND SOUTHEASTERN GREENE COUNTIES...

At 603 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles south of
Stanardsville, or 11 miles northeast of Charlottesville, moving
southeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches to 
         fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as damage
