The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Gila County in east central Arizona...
Navajo County in north central Arizona...
* Until 715 PM MST.
* At 413 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain in Cibecue Creek and Carrizo Creek. Between 1 and 2
inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5
inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing
or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
normally dry washes, urban areas, highways, streets and
underpasses.

Carrizo and Cibecue
This includes Highway 60 between mile markers 315 and 317.
This includes the following swimming holes...
Cibeque Falls.
This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers...
Salt Creek, Jumpoff Canyon, Mud Creek, Cibecue Creek, Deer Springs
Canyon, Day School Wash, V Eighteen Wash, Carrizo Creek, Turkey
Canyon and C One Wash.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Flooding of washes and creeks will occur, some dirt roads will become
muddy and impassable. Paved roads and underpasses could become
flooded as well.
Low water crossings will become dangerous in heavy rain. Do not
attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
Get out of washes and creeks if you are camping or hiking! Flooding
is occurring or imminent and will inundate creeks and washes.

EVENING FOR CIBECUE AND CARRIZO CREEK IN GILA AND NAVAJO COUNTIES...
At 615 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated that the heavy rainfall had
ended over the warned area. However, flash flooding remains a threat
from earlier heavy rain in Cibecue Creek and Carrizo Creek. Between
1.25 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. No additional rainfall is
expected. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
