Grand Canyon between Desert View and Grand Canyon Village in...
Coconino County in north central Arizona...
* Until 815 PM MST.
* At 416 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain over the Bright Angel Creek Basin below the Dragon Bravo
Fire scar and also over the Grand Canyon between Desert View and
Grand Canyon Village. Between 0.75 and 1.5 inches of rain have
fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible
in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding in and around the Bright Angel Creek Basin
below the Dragon Bravo Fire scar and Grand Canyon between
Desert View and Grand Canyon Village.

Flash flooding is occurring or imminent downstream of the Dragon
Bravo Fire scar. Severe debris flow are expected downstream of the
North Rim into Bright Angel Creek and Crystal Creek. Campers and
hikers should get away from creeks and move to higher ground
immediately! Stay away or be swept away!
Get out of washes and creeks if you are camping or hiking! Flooding
is occurring or imminent and will inundate creeks and washes.

DRAGON BRAVO FIRE SCAR AND GRAND CANYON BETWEEN DESERT VIEW AND GRAND
CANYON VILLAGE REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 815 PM MST THIS EVENING FOR
COCONINO COUNTY...
At 648 PM MST, a gauge on the Bright Angle Creek reported a rapid
rise of 3.8 feet from thunderstorms producing heavy rain. This rise
is expected to reach Phantom Ranch within the next 1 to 2 hours.
Between 1.25 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. No additional
rainfall is expected. Flash flooding is already occurring.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding in and around the Bright Angel Creek Basin

* Until 945 PM MST.
* At 749 PM MST, a river gauges along Bright Angel Creek reported 3.5
to 4.0 foot rises from early thunderstorms producing heavy rain.
While upstream gauges at Cottonwood Campground show falling water
levels, the flood wave is still expected to reach Phantom Ranch
within the next 30-60 minutes. Between 1.25 and 2.5 inches of rain
have fallen. No additional rainfall is expected. Flash flooding is
already occurring.
