The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Gila County in east central Arizona...
Navajo County in north central Arizona...
* Until 730 PM MST.
* At 437 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area including the Carrizo Creek and
Corduroy Creek drainages near Carrizo. Between 0.75 and 1.75 inches
of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 0.5
inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing
or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
normally dry washes, urban areas, highways, streets and
underpasses.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Carrizo.
This includes the following highways...
Highway 60 between mile markers 313 and 322. State Route 73 between
mile markers 311 and 315.
This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers...
Turkey Canyon, Carrizo Creek and Corduroy Creek.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Flooding of washes and creeks will occur, some dirt roads will become
muddy and impassable. Paved roads and underpasses could become
flooded as well.
Low water crossings will become dangerous in heavy rain. Do not
attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.

EVENING FOR THE CARRIZO AREA IN GILA AND NAVAJO COUNTIES...
At 625 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain has ended across
the warned area including the Carrizo and Corduroy Creek drainages.
Between 0.75 and 1.75 inches of rain fell earlier this evening.
Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
expected. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

CARRIZO AREA IN GILA AND NAVAJO COUNTIES...
Doppler radar indicated that the heavy rain has ended over the
Carrizo and Corduroy Creek drainages. With no additional rainfall
expected, flash flooding is no longer expected to pose a threat.
Please continue to heed any remaining road closures. Use caution
around area washes as flow will remain elevated.
