The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Apache County in northeastern Arizona...
* Until 1030 PM MDT.
* At 726 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain over Wide Ruins. Between 0.75 and 1.5 inches of rain
have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
normally dry washes, and highways.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Klagetoh, Wide Ruins and Antelope Lake.
This includes Highway 191 between mile markers 387 and 397.
This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers...
Oak Ridge Wash, Bent Knee Wash and Wide Ruin Wash.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Flooding of washes and creeks will occur, some dirt roads will become
muddy and impassable. Paved roads and underpasses could become
flooded as well.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
Low water crossings will become dangerous in heavy rain. Do not
attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1030 PM MDT THIS
EVENING FOR WIDE RUINS IN APACHE COUNTY...
At 848 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated that the heavy rainfall had
ended over the Wide Ruins area. However, flash flooding remains a
threat from earlier thunderstorms producing heavy rain. Between 0.75
and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Only light additional rainfall is
expected. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

...FLASH FLOOD WARNING HAS EXPIRED FOR WIDE RUINS IN APACHE COUNTY...
Doppler radar indicated that the heavy rain has ended over the Wide
Ruins. With no additional rainfall expected, flash flooding is no
longer expected to pose a threat.
Please continue to heed any remaining road closures. Use caution
around area washes as flow will remain elevated.
